We saw four events in the rodeo billed as the Georgia National Rodeo, a production of Barnes PRCA Rodeos:
aka Saddle or Bareback w/flank strap
Unfortunately we had to leave early and missed the scheduled Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
My friends Lori and Wendy explained that this particular bronc riding competition is called Bareback Riding.

In this event, the cowboys don’t use a saddle beyond the harness and handhold you can see in the image at right.
Wendy’s son sometimes competes this way, and she thought the laid back cowboy below was showing professional form in his pose, raised hand and feet, and hat.
Calf Roping and Team Roping came next. In post processing I was amazed at the way the rope appeared so loose and lazy.
Team Roping was an event Peter and I didn't get after seeing one cowboy handle the job.
